44th Annual Treasure Trails... 2010

Our low desert welcomed record breaking amounts of rainfall in the days prior to the event... But, the 44th Treasure Trails was held during glorious weather on Presidents Day weekend. Trailmasters had repeatedly gone out to verify that all 400 tiny hidden chests were still in place after each session of rain, and did a lot of Caltrans work to reopen trails; filling in ditches, and rolling boulders so trails would be passable. Two new trails had to be developed, due in part to flooding in the intended trails. So that made for new adventures for participants. Only 31 of the tiny chests remained unclaimed at the end of the event.

Despite the previous rainy weather, we had a very successful event.  We had over 500 registrations.  With more than 500 chest and prizes out on the 10 trails, it seemed likely that everyone stood a good chance of getting a prize of some sort.  Awards and prizes were held Sunday morning.  Please visit our Treasure Trails 2010 photo page to view pictures of the event.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of our volunteers and sponsors.  Without you, we would have no Treasure Trails.  With that in mind, check your mail soon for your personal invitation to our annual Thank You luncheon catered by Johnson's Landing to be held March 27th.  Yes, the same restaurant that provided such good food Saturday during the event.

Amy Hayword worked hard all weekend taking pictures of our event.  Even going out with one trailmaster following the event to see what we do when we clean up our trail.  Click here to view her slideshow on www.youtube.com.
